Hello blogland! I've needed to update my blog for a while, but it seems that circumstances keep getting in the way.
At the first of the month my 2 daughters and I took a week long trip to Texas. I was in a wedding and then we visited family and friends for the rest of the week. It was a short trip, but we had lots of fun reconnecting with old friends and seeing how much everyone has grown... (most importantly me!) My girls are ready to move back. Me... not so much.
While in Texas, I celebrated my 35th birthday! I can't believe I'm that old! I still feel like I'm 17 ... and I mostly act like it too! My family surprised me with gift cards and cash to by myself a NEW COMPUTER! I am beyond thrilled to be the proud owner of a new iMac!! I love it soooo much!

Now I just need to learn the ropes, but I've pretty much found my around fairly easily. Makes me so happy!
I've been trying my hardest to get back into the studio and get creative, but it's been kinda rough lately. My trip to Texas was emotionally taxing on me. It was hard for me to return to the place where I have experienced so much pain and rejection, but I was ready to finally face it and I did. It took me a few days at home to just feel normal again. Then, last week I got the sad news that an old friend suddenly and unexpectedly passed away. I went with Aly to the funeral on Saturday and saw some friends I hadn't seen since high school, it was all very surreal and yes, emotionally draining.
Needless to say, the creativity is not flowing so easily these days.
I made a few little flower baskets for May before I left, using some of the vintage crepe paper found in the post below... they turned out really pretty... when I get my groove back, I'll probably list them in the shop.

Just wanted to stop by and let you know I'm here. I'm just taking my time...
