Hello friends! :0)
The weather here is crazy HOT! 96 today, and it's only APRIL! ugh! No fair!! I so enjoy the springtime weather and well, let's just say, summer... you are not my favorite!
Anyway, enough about the weather. I wanted to show you some books that I made! I've been wanting to make these ever since I made THIS ONE for myself.
I was in such a groove, I made both of these in one day! I predict there will be many more in my future.... :0)
Okay, these little chunky books are meant to be like, journals and/or scrapbooks...my husband said, "Pretty, buuuut what do you do with it?"
I replied, "LOOK at it silly!" lol
I use my book for keeping my important internet contact info. and passwords, but you could do anything with them. Journaling, add photos, doodle, art journaling... make a little brag book, add inspirational quotes you enjoy, crafty ideas keeper, dream journal... you get the idea.
So the first book, 4.5" by 4.5" square, 12 pages, bright pastels, very ME! Each page is stitched with aqua thread, distressed for a "vintagey" feel and totally embellished with all of my favorite materials....millinery flowers, vintage and new trims and ribbons, pretty papers, buttons, paper embellishments, and the list goes on!
Fun right???
The second book is 10 pages, 4.5" by 5.5", pinks, creams and golds, each page is stitched with hot pink thread, distressed and embellished with lots of fun goodies! I left the label blank on the front so the new owner can personalize it. ;0)
I will be listing these in the SHOP later today, so stop by!
xxoo

Can't agree with you more about the weather , even here in England it's been very mild and some quite warmish days. My husband says we're in for a hot year! I like cool and rain! Never mind we get what we get!

I swear, wouldn't it be nice to NOT hear, "what do you do with it?" from a hubby???
I know what you do with it, you adore it, that thing is beautiful!
A few minutes ago, I was rearranging the studio a bit and hung the little house collage you sent to me. So, I had to come by and say hi while I was thinking of you and enjoying your work.

OMG.. Your handmade books are so beautiful. I've been wanting to try and make some altered art books myself after I've been seeing them all over blogland, but I'm not the craftiest person in the world and I don't even know where to start. It would be awesome if you could do some sort of tutorial and give some basic instructions. I'm sure there are others out there would would also love to learn to make these and would appreciate some expert advise.
Take care and keep up the fabulous work.
