I'm alive!

Oh my, I have been very lazy about updating up my blog in the last few weeks!! So a little update on me....

I made it thru a week of camp with the very sweetest group of girls! I and my teen counselor had a chance to stop for about an hour in Old Town Sacramento~ so many fun shops! Here we are trying on some fun glasses. It's blurry but still a fun picture!

 

Here are a few of my favorite camp piccys of the girls...

As the only counselor over er... uhh... 30, I was WIPED OUT after a whole week of running around a camp chasing after these little ones! I think I slept for 12 hours the night we came home!

Then, like a lunatic, I decided after I got home that our house needed a huge redo.

WHAT WAS I THINKING????

Actually, my husband has been urging me for some time to relocate my studio area and to take over our dining room. It is more centrally located in the house and we have pocket doors that open into the main living area, so I guess it makes more sense to be right in the center of all the action.

It's been right at a week since I stared moving rooms and I just finished things up tonight! WHEW!

YEAH! I am so excited to finally finish so I can get working on some new goodies for my shop! I've sort of taken the summer off a bit, with kids and summer and camp and all the craziness, making anything has been impossible!

So, now that everything actually has a place, I can be a lot more organized and make stuff while the kids are with me and not playing in another part of the house. FUN FUN FUUUUUN!!!

I have a lot of ideas... I have a TON of little notes like this all over the place, waiting for me to take a little action and get it done. :0)

Soon, soon, soooooon! School starts on August 25th. That's exactly 26 days!

So, back to getting organized. Am I alone when I say that I can't seem to ever arrive?

My bff Aly is one of the most organized people I know. How she does it with 3 kids, one will never know, but it's just how she is. She is just naturally a clean freak. Her laundry always seems to be clean AND put away.

Then there is me.

If you show up to my house right now, you would find 3 piles of laundry all around my living room. They have been picked thru by 3 children and 2 exhausted adults who are preparing to leave for a week of summer camp.

It's a wreck around here. Oh well. I'm not really complaining, I'm just more... stating the facts.

It would not be so bad if I were sending them off to camp without me. I would feel a little more at ease...

No, I am the camp counselor who is taking them all to camp! It's crazy, I know. Buuut, I'm looking forward to a week away from normal living. I'm hoping I can find some inspiration, give my mind a rest and also get a little sun.

(one does not get much sun sitting in front of a computer screen....)

So, that's this week. I'll be home next weekend and I'll check in with you all then and let you know how camp was...

But, before that, I have a few other things I've been meaning to share!

First, I was organizing my trims, and decided to do something fun with them. First, I wrapped them around plain manilla taggies:

Then, I found this old gadget I bought a few years ago at IKEA... I love IKEA, don't you? It's basically a hanging line with little jaw clippies that hang, so you could hang curtains, or kids artwork or important papers...

I thought it would be a cute way to hang my trim tags, so that I can see them and admire them, instead of filling up random boxes.

I used all my hangers already, now I need to order some more...

Cute, right? So, as you can see below, I need to finish up so that it fills the whole line, sort of like a trim valance?

In other news, I wanted to tell y'all that I am coming to Silver Bella 2008!

WOOOO HOOO!!!

If you've never heard of Silver Bella, it is a super fab paper arts event held in Omaha, Nebraska, hosted by Teresa McFayden of My Minuta. You can read more about it HERE, HERE and HERE! This year's special guest speaker will be the ever talented Mary Engelbreit!!!!!

I am SOOOOO EXCITED to go and hope to meet some of you sweet BELLAS!!!!
