I needed to make a list of things so I wouldn't forget to share them. So here we go.
1. I want to thank EVERYONE for such kind and sincere comments on my blog! I have been overwhelmed by your encouragement! Wow! Y'all are just too much! XO
2. I want to share some of the Christmas gifts I made for my family this year. I really wanted to try and make something for each of them, just because it seems like so much more from my heart, rather than my rapidly depleting checking account.
So for my mom... she's the craftiest gal there can be... she knows how to do everything, I swear. You go to her house and find new stuff she's made all OVER the place. She paints, she draws, she sews, she can decorate cakes, she is the QUEEN OF CRAFTS.
So for mom, I took inspiration from a lot of things and I wanted to make her a collage using some of her photos from her childhood. I wasn't sure how to make it actually look cute... you know? So, it took many nights of staring at a blank wood house. (purchased at Michaels, in case you want one for yourself...)
Then I went to the scrapbook store, and thought I would go broke, with all of the cuteness...but I decided on some TOTALLY cute stickers from K & Company.
I decided to make a little fairy dream house...using my mom and her sisters as the fairies!
Aren't they cute???
Sadly, my pictures didn't come out so well, so I only have a couple to share... but here is the complete project.
I used a lot of different elements that I already had on my craft table, just tried to imagine them differently... miniature parties, princess birds and pretty posies.
For my little sis, I made a collage inspired by the Bits and Pieces Collages we all swapped last year.
Nikky's favorite colors are green and peachy/pink. She also shares a love for birds, so that was easy!
I used their prom picture and turned them into a fairy princess and her angelic beau!
I'm really happy with the way it came out. Sorry about the bad pics, I think I was just in such a rush, I didn't take the time to get good lighting. :0(
And finally, for my brother... okay, let me just share for a moment...
My older brother is a mystery... have you ever seen "The 40 Year Old Virgin?'
Well, imagine that, only he is not 40 and well, let's just say he's perfectly fine in the lady department... enough said. He just has the same bachelor pad... walls lined with SUPER expensive action figures, a few life size Star Wars costumes (that he made from scratch and wore to the premier movies and the Star Wars conventions....) and piles and piles of electronic equipment, and tools and a the best sewing machine you could ever ask for. (yes, he is a master tailor as well...) He also played the guitar in a band called Hatred for a while... so just imagine...long hair, computer genius, star wars fan who can read binary code and make a killer authentic Pirates of the Caribbean costume.
He is a genius, for real. His job is to repair robots. He is a "Nick Burns" (from SNL) in the computer world. In fact, he is planning a trip to Hawaii and has a computer program that he wrote to automatically feed his dog while he gone for 12 days.
Okay, so what do I make for him...
A Star Wars Collage, made with action figures of course!
This is my interpretation of the scene from Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back, Episode V, in the Degobah System.
(Don't I sound like I know what I'm talking about??)
I actually did know this scene... it's when Luke is being trained by Master Yoda, to be a Jedi...
I also made him a scull stocking...sort of pirate-ish...
It think he liked them. ;0)
3. I also wanted to show a few photos of the gifts Aly gave me for Christmas. She gave me this pretty dessert set that I *love*!
She also made this AWESOME little fabric flower brooch, in my colors!!
4. Lastly I wanted to show a few things I've been working on for my shop. Valentine's Day is quickly approaching and I wanted to offer a few things for everyone to use in their crafty endeavors.
Drop by the shop, Sugar*Sugar!
Well, I need to get running along, the chores are calling my name!!

What special gifts! I decided to go handmade this Christmas too. I either made the gifts or I bought from Etsy--except for the wee little ones--they don't appreciate handmade as much as they do Toys-R-Us--ya know?
I love the house you made for your mother--what a clever idea.

Oh my gosh! The little house and the collage for your sister are over the top cute!! And how fun that you made your brother a collage too. I am always thinking that I'd like to make my brothers something I just didn't think they'd want a purse or a pincushion. LOL One of my brothers has actually worn out an apron I made his wife though. LOL
