I could hardly wait until today to post this blog!!
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
How about you all come to CA for vacation and hang out at my place! I'm sure we would have a ball! :0)
So, this week has been looonnnggg. But I did make it to 100 sold items on Monday, Thank you FIFI!!
((see her AMAZING (and I'm NOT kidding!!) blog here... Chez Fifi!))
I started my blog and opened my etsy shop, Sugar*Sugar in March of this year... and, no kidding, it has changed my life!
I was going thru a real funk, you know, and it seemed there was no way out.
I wrote this to a friend this week...
One
nightmorning at about 2am, I had insomnia and was sitting at the computer searching for "chocolate... pink... vintage" or something...and then I find a link to Etsy. I'm a craft gal so I was IN HEAVEN! I saw links to all these TO DYE FOR BLOGS and it was all over with... I WAS joining this group of people who I knew would 'get me'!!*WINK*
I decided (almost immediately) to quit my part time web/marketing job to do this. I was instantly a new person. My kids could tell, my husband was like, "You're smiling!"... but most of all I knew I was getting better...I had some hope... this would be part of my recovery/process.
and it has been.
It's been helpful for me to focus on what I love, instead of what I hate....
So, there you have it, that is why I'm here!
and I'm happy!
Now for the moment we've all been waiting for.........

hi analise! i discovered your blog a few weeks ago, and I just wanted to say thank you and to let you know how much of an inspiration your post from sept. 12 as well as this one have been. a few years after being diagnosed with a chronic illness, i was no longer able to continue working creatively in the same capacity i once was. i have been going through a rough time for about the past year trying to figure out how i can continue to work creatively with my limitations, and your words just really had an impact on me. although things have turned out very differently than i had imagined, i am so lucky and blessed to be able to work from home now on the things that i absolutely LOVE! that is the gift that until i read your post, i hadn't really seen yet. i had been so caught up focusing on things that weren't going to work anymore, that i was unable to see that i can still have that creative outlet from the comfort of my home. thank you for writing that post! i hope to have a blog and a little etsy shop up soon, but until then i will continue to enjoy this wonderful community i have stumbled upon through your blog. your pictures are just lovely. much like each of you, i love surrounding myself with lovely things (pink & aqua especially. . .)it's just happy and makes you smile!

My experience discovering blogs and Etsy came around the same time as yours--sometime back in March. It has changed me! I feel so connected to people I have never even met and enjoy looking at and sometimes purchasing peoples' art or vintage finds on Etsy. I too was in some kind of funk (depression) and could see no light at the end of the tunnel. I'm not yet where you are, doing what you love, but now I can see a glimmer of light and feel hopeful. Thanks for sharing your experience!
