My mom gave me a sewing machine for Christmas last year, I just opened it last week! on from then on...it's been the center of attention around the house. The girls are begging me to teach them how to sew...to which I reply, "As soon as Mama learns, you will learn!"
My mom taught me as a girl to sew...for 4-H. I won a blue ribbon (first prize...not to be braggy) at the Tulare County Fair for my fashionable blue pants and coordinating top...which I only wore once to church.
I wasn't sure how I would do at first, but it's kinda like riding a bike, eh? Just thread the needle and take off! Well, it's not quite that easy when you don't know such terms as "interfacing" or "understitch" or "reinforce".
This has meant studying terms and living at the sewing machine...at all times. Here's my lunch...Weight Watchers and Water...ya, it's that bad!
Yes, I am a beginner. YEAH!
I have always wanted to use my collection of fabrics and vintage linens for use of better purposes other than filling up cabinets and storage bins...now's my chance!
I've also had all these fun goodies just waiting to be attached to something special.
I did make a few "beginner" totes this week. I'll be listing them in my etsy shop this week.
Although PINK is always my favorite...I'm likin' the orange and pink together...with ruffles!!
POM POMS~reminds me of 7th grade...fluffing my pom poms for hours on end going for the perfect amount of fluff!
The solid pink bag was made from a sweet pink skirt...too cute!
I don't remember sewing being so messy and time consuming. My dining room is a huge mess of thread and scraps. But, I remain inspired.

Thanks to everyone who has been so encouraging and leaving such sweet comments. I really does mean so much to know I'm not alone in my pursuit to personal bliss and doing what I love!
Thanks!
